So it is getting cold here in Edmonton and the deal was the truck could stay in the shop until it got cold enough that we had to scrape the windows on the car each morning. Then the truck comes out and the cars get the garage. Sadly - it is getting that cold.
So I'm trying to get the project wrapped up.
I also got a job - 10 on 4 off split shift - so I don't have a lot of time to devote to the project.
So today i got the Wheels put on the front and the entire front end completed.
Here is a close up of the front drivers side...
And the completed front end...
It was a lot of work but everything is painted which should help it survive the winter.
I also rebuilt the rear leaf springs. Here they are all taken apart in their rusty glory. I wire wheeled them off and coated them with a rust converter paint.
They were pretty nasty. I don't have a photo of the repainted and assembled spring but here is a shot of the completed rear end. The axle is still rusty - I'll get to it next year. I cut the perches off the axle and moved them out an inch to fit the new positioning on the old 52 frame.
And a final teaser shot of the frame sitting on the old 1952 rims and tires. They are skinny!
More work tomorrow.......
